STONEWALL‘s Top 100 Employers 2022 was revealed recently. The list contains the 100 companies that are making the biggest commitments for the LGBTQ + community through various D&I initiatives.
Global financial services firm, Macquarie Group became the top employer for LGBTQ+ people on the latest list. Macquarie first became a Top 100 Employer in 2016 and achieved the 33rdposition in the 2020 list. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, Clifford Chance LLP, Victim Support (Welsh Employer of the Year), NHS Business Services Authority, Jacobs Engineering limited, Cardiff University, Slaughter and May, Sky UK, Pinsent Masons LLP are the firms that came into the top ten positions following Macquarie.
The Top 100 Employers List is compiled through submissions to a free, voluntary benchmarking tool, the Workplace Equality Index (WEI). Top 100 Employers are picked out for their excellent work in creating inclusive workplaces for their LGBTQ+ staff. Thorough and standardized criteria are involved in the selection procedure.
“It’s been wonderful to see all of the work put in by the private, public and third sector organisations making up the Top 100 Employers List this year. For many of us, the majority of our time is spent at work, so if we don’t feel comfortable being ourselves, it can take an enormous toll. Creating environments where we can all feel comfortable makes the workplace a safer, better, and friendlier place for everyone and helps staff be proud of who they are,” said Nancy Kelley, CEO of Stonewall.
Stonewall is the UK’s leading charity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual equality, working to create a world where every LGBTQ+ person is free to be themselves – wherever they are.
