New Supply Chain Programme launched for diverse-owned businesses

DIAGEO announced the launch of its new Sustainable Supply Chain Programme, a top-tier educational opportunity for businesses with diverse ownership yesterday (7).

Diageo will collaborate with WeConnect International, Danone, Google, and IEMA to reach up to 150 diverse-owned companies from various industries.

These companies will include those that are LGBTQ+, women-owned, minority-owned, and disabled-owned.

The programme will assist enterprises in broadening their sustainability knowledge, acquiring new skills and encourage them as well to incorporate these practises into their own operations.

Their sustainability, effectiveness, and eventually competitiveness in the global value chain will all increase as a result.

Best practices for sustainable purchasing, lowering waste and emissions, and working with suppliers on sustainable concerns will all be covered in the programme, which will last between 12 and 20 hours.

Ewan Andrew, president, Global Supply & Procurement, Chief Sustainability Officer, said: “We recognise that delivering our stretching Society 2030: Spirit of Progress ambitions cannot be done in isolation.

Partnering with peers and leading advocacy organisations will build knowledge and combine networks to create opportunities for diverse-owned businesses to enhance their environmental sustainability capability.

“We are committed to pioneering Grain-to-Glass sustainability and accelerating inclusion and diversity across our value chain, with this programme a huge milestone in our journey to a more sustainable and inclusive world.”

The Program will start in September 2023 and conclude in December 2023.
