CLIFFORD Chance, the international law firm has been ranked number one in this year’s Stonewall Top 100 Employers list.
The firm was ranked three last year and continuously recognised as one of the top 50 employers for eight years.
The list honours outstanding companies that are dedicated to supporting their LGBTQ+ employees and promoting equality for LGBTQ+ people in the UK.
Additionally, the company got a Gold Award for its dedication to LGBTQ+ inclusiveness at work, and Arcus, its affinity network, was given the Highly Commended Network Group Award, which is given to organisations with the best scores in the Index’s Network Activity segment.

In addition to having comprehensive healthcare coverage that include transition-related therapies and LGBTQ+ inclusive mental health counselling, Stonewall, the UK’s largest charity organisation for LGBTQ+ equality, claimed that the Magic Circle organisation has clear procedures that ensure LGBTQ+ personnel are protected and supported.
Clifford Chance has already surpassed its goal of having 5 per cent LGBTQ+ partners in the UK by 2025, and the company is still working towards its goal of having 3 per cent LGBTQ+ global partners by that same year.
Other firms who are included in the top 10 positions are Arup (second), Victim Support (third), NHS Business Services Authority (fourth), Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (fifth), Jacobs Engineering Group (sixth), Stockport Homes Group (seventh), KPMG (eighth), Linklaters (Magic Circle law firm) (ninth), and Citi (tenth).
The Magic Circle law firms refer to the five most prestigious law firms headquartered in the UK, they are; Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Linklaters, and Slaughter and May.
